ORIGINS

Jean de Galimard lived in Grasse in 1747 where he created the Galimard House of Perfumes. Founder of the corporation of Glovemakers and Perfumers, Jean supplied the court of Louis XIV, the well-beloved, King of France, with olive oil, pomades, and perfumes of which he developed the first formulas. UNESCO HERITAGE

November 2018, the United Nation’s cultural agency said it had added the skills linked to cultivating flowers and blending fragrances in Grasse to its list of protected treasures.
